Donate Our goal is to raise enough money to cover the costs of housing, clothing, food, education, transportation and services that the newcomer family will need in its first year. To date, we have raised over $60,000. You can help us reach our goal by donating here so that we can sponsor another family too!
Current Donations needed:
Bikes and Sewing Machines
RRR is continuing its search for adult bicycles and sewing machines for CultureLink.
If you or your friends and neighbours have adult or children's bikes and scooters that are no longer being used, we can collect those too. Donations of helmets, bells and locks would be most useful.
We are also looking for donations of sewing related paraphernalia such as good scissors, measuring tapes, needles, thread, sewing baskets, etc.
Could the members of RRR please share the task of locating some of these donations.
To learn more, our co-chair, Joanne Green, was interviewed by Lisa Rainford earlier this week. The article appeared in the on-line edition on April 24th and with any luck it may be printed in The Bloor West Villager this coming week. Follow this link:
Contribute goods and services We invite individuals and businesses to contribute the many things the newcomer family will need to get settled in Toronto. Do you have an apartment or other housing? Furniture or housewares? Can you provide services (transportation, interpretation, recreation, health care, other)? Please let us know what you can offer.
(Please note: we are not accepting clothing at this time but will when we know more about our family.)
Join Us Our group is made up of volunteers. We welcome everyone who wants to help. There is a lot to do and many ways you can contribute. To get involved, contact us today.
